But even so it was one last chance to experience the tracks live, because the gig was part of Edwyn Collins’ farewell tour “The Testimonial Tour 2025 – A Last Lap Around the UK”. Collins himself said that he was very touched by the live eye view.

Orange Juice: The short live reunion and what happened before

Orange Juice was founded in Glasgow in 1979, in Scotland, and were style-defining in the early 80s with their own kind of indie pop sound. But there were always tensions between Edwyn Collins, head of the band, and the other members in relation to the artistic direction of the group. At the beginning of the 80s, James Kirk and Steven Daly got out of the band for too different musical alignment requests. After a few reorganizations, Orange Juice dissolved overall in 1985. Collins then continued as a solo artist and landed his big hit with “A Girl Like You” in 1994.

So now, at the end of September, the trio presented itself united on the stage. Together they played “Felicity” and “Blue Boy” live. A recording of the live moment can be seen here:

2025 and early 2026: The very last concerts by Edwyn Collins are pending

At the beginning of the year, Edwyn Collins released his tenth solo album nation Shall Speak. On his associated farewell tour, appointments in UK are still on the program in September and October. On January 29, 2026, he will also appear in Vienna, on January 30th in Linz and a day later in Dornbirn.

In February 2005 the singer was taken to the hospital after suffering two brain bleeding that led to temporarily losing the ability to speak. He also had to bring his motor skills to shape with the help of intensive rehab. In recent years he has been able to recover health, performing live with a walking stick or performing many songs while sitting.
