Opinions on BVB, Hertha BSC and Co.: Terzic dampens, Dardai’s conclusion surprises

A Bundesliga Saturday packed with goals: while Hertha BSC lost to Werder Bremen at home, 1. FC Köln can celebrate three points in Hoffenheim. In the evening, BVB cheered after a blunder by FC Bayern and grabbed the lead in the table. The reactions of the coaches are therefore very different. These are the votes for the 29th matchday:

Borussia Dortmund – Eintracht Frankfurt 4:0

Edin Terzic (Borussia Dortmund coach): “We showed a really good game and had a lot of grip. We made a really great step, but nothing more. There are exactly five steps left. We’re not talking about what might happen in five weeks. It’s waiting in Bochum a difficult away game. We can increase the cushion a bit on Friday night.”

Oliver Glasner (Eintracht Frankfurt coach): “We also had some good situations in the first half. We couldn’t stand up at the back and didn’t take our chances up front. We had 7-4 shots on goal in the first half and it’s 3-0 to the opponent. Dortmund had a brutal one efficiency and was clearly better in both penalty areas.”

FSV Mainz 05 – FC Bayern Munich 3:1

Bo Svensson (FSV Mainz 05 coach): “It was an extremely difficult first half for us. That was really bad, the second was a tad better. After the 1-1 draw you felt the faith, the energy and the momentum. Until then it didn’t look like it would we would come back. I’m proud of my team.”

Thomas Tuchel (Bayern Munich coach): “Once again I’m sitting there and saying: I didn’t see it coming. We obviously can’t play without individual mistakes and a lack of concentration. We lack the energy to deal with setbacks. At the moment we look like a team that has already played 80 games of the season we seem exhausted. The points go away like sand through your hands. Everyone is fighting with themselves.”

Hertha BSC – Werder Bremen 2: 4

Pal Dardai (Hertha BSC coach): “That’s football. I was mentally prepared for a defeat. We got a goal straight away, the team was blocked. The pressure was a huge problem, we urgently need to do something to break the blockage. We don’t need to talk about the course of the game, it was a mental thing in this situation. We weren’t brave, Bremen deserved to win.”

Ole Werner (Werder Bremen coach): “A very good performance from us, in an exceptional setting. That stays in mind, the fans carried us today. We got our first chance and then the game went our way. We were very effective, 4-0 the game was over in the back. The bottom line is that our performance today was very stable, just a compliment to the lads.”

VfL Bochum – VfL Wolfsburg 1:5

Thomas Letsch (coach VfL Bochum): “We did a lot of things well, even if it sounds strange after a 1:5. In the crucial moments we did too badly, made mistakes, made it too easy for the opponent. It didn’t feel like a game on the pitch 0: 3. Then after half-time you constrict the opponent, make another catastrophic mistake and it’s 0: 4. But when I see the atmosphere here, how all of Bochum was behind the team, it makes me optimistic .”

Niko Kovac (VfL Wolfsburg coach): “We’re happy, we’re satisfied, the result speaks for us. We did really well in the first half, we found the free players, we were also a bit lucky in some situations, and we were also very present in defence. With I was definitely not satisfied in the second half, the bottom line is that the win is okay.”

TSG Hoffenheim – 1. FC Cologne 1:3

Pellegrino Matarazzo (TSG Hoffenheim coach): “We started the game okay, the big break came after conceding a goal. The first half didn’t live up to our expectations. In the second half we didn’t have enough power to turn the game around, we made the wrong decisions too often.”

Steffen Baumgart (Coach 1. FC Cologne): “It was a good performance for 90 minutes. The first half was very good. In the second half it was an open exchange of blows. It wasn’t an undeserved win, and we’re very happy to take it with us.”

FC Augsburg – VfB Stuttgart 1:1

Enrico Maassen (FC Augsburg coach): “We played a very, very good first half. Then we were unlucky that we had to change five players injured or injured. That was very annoying. We lost the power and the structure, and also a bit of security. It It’s very annoying to get a goal from a set piece again.”

Sebastian Hoeneß (coach VfB Stuttgart): “The Augsburgers can make life really difficult for you, they did that. We’re not happy with the result, but we can definitely be proud of the second half. Coming back in Augsburg isn’t a given. The point can be very valuable, we want to ennoble him against Gladbach.”
