At a Chinese restaurant I stand in line to pick up. Another customer is a bit annoying for me, he talks loudly and makes somewhat blunt comments. If I order a vegetarian tofu dish, he addresses me.
“Are you vegetarian?” he asks in a slightly aggressive tone.
Now we are going to get it, I think, and I am bracing what is to come.
“… good of you!”
