The German darts professionals Gabriel Clemens and Ricardo Pietreczko confidently reached the second round of the Players Championship Finals in Minehead, England.
Clemens won 6:3 against the Englishman Connor Scutt, the in-form Pietreczko won 6:1 against the Dutchman Christian Kist.
In the second round on Saturday, the two Germans each have a tricky task: World Cup semi-finalist Clemens (No. 28) meets shooting star Josh Rock (Northern Ireland/No. 5), Pietreczko (No. 23) has to play against number ten seeded Ryan Searle (England).
Daniel Klose failed in round one against Englishman Ryan Joyce (3:6). The major tournament is considered a dress rehearsal for the World Championships in London, which begins on December 15th. 64 participants are playing for a total of £600,000 in prize money, with the final taking place on Sunday.
