OpenIA fires Sam Altman, the creator of ChatGPT

Sam Altman, the creator of ChatGPT, has been fired as CEO of the company he founded, OpenAI. The announcement is accompanied by a harsh statement in which the company affirms its lack of confidence in him to lead the company, and in which it accuses him of having hidden information from the board of directors.

His successor will be engineer Mira Murati, until now responsible for technology (Chief Technology Offer), who will act as interim CEO.

Altman’s surprising departure comes after a “deliberative review by the board (of directors), which concluded that he was not always truthful in his communication with the board, which hindered his ability to exercise his responsibilities,” a statement said.
