Only zero number: Haching bites his teeth into Sandhausen

SpVgg Unterhaching can’t get past a draw against SV Sandhausen on matchday 11. In a particularly strong game for Upper Bavaria, striker Patrick Hobsch failed with the best chance in the last minute.

SpVgg Unterhaching remains a real midfield team in the 3rd football league. Because on Saturday (October 14th, 2023), the Hachingers in eighth place in the table did not get past a 0-0 draw against ninth-placed SV Sandhausen.

Hachings Hobsch misses the lucky punch at the last minute

Coach Marc Unterberger’s team will most likely be remembered for their fighting performance from Upper Bavaria. Ultimately, the game was characterized less by scenes in the goal area – and more by duels on both sides. Hachinger captain Josef Welzmüller had to be replaced due to injury – as did Sandhausen’s leading figure Dennis Diekmeier.

The best chance from the Vorstädter’s point of view was the striker Patrick Hobsch, who headed in from the six-yard box to Sandhausen’s goalkeeper Rehnen after a corner in the 90th minute – instead of aiming 30 centimeters a little further to the left and ensuring the celebrated victory. Nevertheless, the Hachingers seemed satisfied after the final whistle – after all, as promoted teams, they defied the second division relegated side to take the next point.
