The government income from the gambling tax rose to the record amount of 1 billion euros last year. This is mainly due to higher income from online dugs that has been legal since October 2021. The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reports this. This has risen sharply in recent years, because in 2021, the gambling tax has risen, it was still € 343 million, according to Statistics Netherlands.
