That of One hundred years of solitude by Gabriel García Màrquez, a masterpiece released in 1967is undoubtedly among the most dazzling incipits in the history of literature; its serial adaptation, the first ever made, could only start from here, immersing the viewer in the atmospheres and characters that marked the success of the novel.

Netflix has achieved an ambitious operation: transposing a complex work into seriality, the saga of seven generations of a family – the Buendías – in the imaginary village of Macondo.
The result is a blockbuster with high and evident production values (the sets, the photography, the costumes) which tries to remain as faithful as possible to the literary original. Eight episodes that represent the pieces of a family story that is also a historical biography of Latin Americaits myths and its contradictions.
