One celebrity is more concerned with Ukraine than the other and the return of the children’s party

Once in a while we have to ask ourselves in this column: ‘How do the celebrities react to…’ And this time it is, of course: to the war in Ukraine.

There is the category of live protest. Some celebrities took to the streets on Sunday. Georgina Verbaan, Jeangu Macrooy, Claudia de Breij and Maik de Boer, among others, protested in Amsterdam.

Then there is the category of original angle. Pieter van Vollenhoven chose his mood as his approach. “It is very unsatisfactory to see that Russia can just invade Ukraine and that we can only discuss it!”

Then there’s the picture of a dove of peace department: Marian Mudder, Daphne Deckers and no doubt many others.

This time there also appears to be a department of people who really know something about it. Because there are of course celebrities with Ukrainian roots, who also go deeper into the matter than the average celebrity: the power duo Evgeniy Levchenko and Victoria Koblenko.

Connie Witteman is hors category. She wrote: ‘Despite my effort in seeking answers, I don’t feel like continuing with my insta at the moment!’, and then stopped posting.

We at the star section predict a revival of the old-fashioned children’s party. Not only because corona seems to have almost disappeared, but also because adult stars now also seem to love children’s parties. And we don’t mean the parties they throw for their toddler. (Remember that amusement park Kylie Jenner had for her daughter Stormi’s birthday? With that gigantic Stormi head through which the visitors entered the party?) No, they’re kids’ parties for themselves.

Justin Bieber celebrated his 28th birthday this week. According to the Daily Mail a milestone, but then you can call everything a milestone. To see how and what sent the Mail a drone over his backyard, and it photographed a pool full of air mattresses, a bunch of gigantic plastic beer cups, probably intended for the game bear pongand a huge ball pit.

Gone are the days of Hollywood parties with sophisticated hors‑d’oeuvres and flutes of champagne: the almost 30-year-old pop star now wants to play with his friends in a round tub full of pastel-colored balls.

There were also large plastic mushrooms scattered throughout the garden and a mini golf course had been constructed. The only thing your stargazer was missing was the taut clothesline for the cookie bites, but the drone may have just missed it.
