The Public Prosecution Service (OM) is convinced that Ridouan Taghi is the client for the murder of Ronald Bakker. That would be apparent from encrypted messages. On September 9, 2015, the 59-year-old man from Huizen was murdered in front of his house, just after he returned from work.
The employee of the Spyshop in Nieuwegein put his car in the driveway of his home on the Reindeer in Huizen around 6.20 pm that day. He was then murdered in cold blood. Bakker was shot in the head while he was still in his car. The gunman fled on a black motorcycle. A witness saw that.
Equipment in cars
Intercepted PGP messages (encrypted digital messages) would show that Ridouan Taghi was the principal for Bakker’s murder. The public prosecutor announced this on Monday during his argument in the criminal process.
“It is clear from the PGP messages that all kinds of ideas have arisen about the role that the Spyshop would have had in the arrests. It is also thought that a specific Spyshop employee may have identified the suspects and that images from the Spyshop would have been provided. In the end, it goes so far that Taghi even thinks that the Spyshop would have put the equipment in the cars,” the OM reported.
The liquidation of De Huizer followed the arrest in July 2015 of the suspects in the so-called 26Koper investigation. This investigation was about the discovery of a large weapons storage facility in Nieuwegein and the preparation of murders. In this investigation it was seen that two suspects visited the Spyshop in Nieuwegein.
Vehicle tracking systems
At the time, this was the reason for the public prosecutor to demand the sales administration. This data revealed that the suspects had purchased two car tracking systems and a wireless alarm. The Spyshop was obliged to cooperate with the claim.
Marengo
The murder of Ronald Bakker is part of the Marengo trial that is currently underway. A total of seventeen suspects will appear in court. They are on trial for participating in a criminal organization and are suspected of committing six liquidations, including that of 59-year-old Huizer.
This information was contained in the file that was used when the suspects were brought before the examining magistrate after they were arrested in July 2015. The two were then in all restrictions, which means that they were only allowed to have contact with their lawyer.
“That information could only have reached Taghi because the restrictions were violated. All suspects who had been arrested and in whose case a file had been provided were still in restrictions,” according to the Public Prosecution Service.
Partly responsible
This leads to the conclusion of the Public Prosecution Service that Taghi, who is on trial for the murder of Bakker, has given the impression that the employees of the Spyshop in Nieuwegein were partly responsible for the arrests made in the 26Koper investigation.
