Olympique Lyon creates a good starting position

Even without the former football world champion Jérôme Boateng, Olympique Lyon has secured a good starting position for reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

The team of former Bundesliga coach Peter Bosz won the round of 16 first leg at FC Porto on Wednesday 1-0 (0-0). Boateng was missing because of a pubic osteitis, on Twitter he confirmed his absence “for a certain time” before the game.

The Brazilian Lucas Paqueta (59th) scored the goal of the evening for the former French series champion after a remarkable combination. A draw in front of their home crowd is enough for Lyon to progress in the second leg next Thursday (9:00 p.m.).
