Andreja Slokar already missed World Cup races two years ago. Now it’s the same again for the Slovenian after a serious injury. This also means that the Olympic dream has shattered.

She had big plans for this winter and also wanted to attack at the Olympic Games next February in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. But nothing comes of it for Andreja Slokar. The Slovenian suffered a torn cruciate ligament during training in Sölden and now has to take a long break.

The 28-year-old slalom specialist shared a photo of herself in the hospital on Instagram. In the snapshot you can see the ski racer sitting in a hospital bed. Her right leg is stretched out and there are large white plasters on it. She is wearing a shirt and a white compression stocking on her left leg, but is smiling into the camera despite the situation. Next to the bed there is a table with personal items, a yellow balloon with a smiley face and an orchid.

In addition to this photo, Slokar also posted a video of himself training. She wrote about the recordings: “This hurts.” She then explained that she was sad to announce that she had torn her cruciate ligament. “I had the best time and I just want to go back to those moments, so. I think we need to try this comeback thing again, right?”

US star and record holder Mikaela Shiffrin shared two hearts under the post. The Austrian and third place in the World Cup this year, Katharina Liensberger, said: “Get well soon.” The German ski racer Emma Aicher also shared her sympathy with two red hearts. Sweden’s Anna Swenn-Larsson said: “I’m so sorry. You can do it.”
