Therese Johaug is one of the best cross-country skiers in history. Sport currently only plays a secondary role for the Norwegian – for good reason.
Double joy for Therese Johaug: The cross-country skiing Olympic champion became a mother for the second time – and was awarded an honorary award at the Norwegian sports gala on the same day.
Johaug shared the news with her fans on Instagram. “Days like these don’t come often. New mother and the honorary award from the sports gala on the same day,” wrote the Norwegian. She went on to say thank you: “Thank you to everyone who stood by me and helped me when I needed it. I will remember this day forever.”
Johaug ended her career for the second time in the summer of 2025. She resigned in 2022 and celebrated her comeback two years later.
With four Olympic victories, she is one of the most successful winter athletes in sports history. She particularly excelled in Beijing four years ago and won three gold medals. She celebrated her first title in Vancouver in 2010.
