In Munich since 2024
Olise’s exit clause? Bayern boss makes people sit up and take notice

He excels with consistently strong performances for the German record champions – and causes a stir. Could Michael Olise leave Bayern soon? Max Eberl speaks plainly.
This news will delight all FC Bayern fans and sympathizers: With his move to Munich, Michael Olise has not only made a sporting commitment – but also contractually. The French international does not have an exit clause in his contract with Bayern, which runs until 2029. Sports director Max Eberl confirmed this in an interview with the magazine “11 Freunde”.
This means that the Munich team can plan firmly for the 23-year-old in the coming years – without the risk that the winger could move to another club for a fixed transfer fee. At the start of the season there was still public speculation as to whether such a clause was included in the contract.
Olise was signed by Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 for more than 50 million euros. Since then, the fast, dribbling attacker has been one of the top performers for the German record champions – both in his first season and currently in his second year. In 66 competitive games for Bayern so far, Olise has scored 26 goals and prepared 29 more goals.
When asked whether FC Bayern had lost international ground after failed transfers like Florian Wirtz and Nick Woltemade, Eberl reacted decisively. “No!” said the sports director. The reasons for a player’s decision are varied – such as a better offer, more playing time or a match with the club’s ideas. In the public discussion, he feels that the fact that with Olise they have signed a player who is on the way to “becoming one of the best players in the world” is neglected.
