The victims live in Doornikserijksweg in Bellegem and are both from 1938. Two strangers forced entry to their home around 9:30 am and searched the house. They wore face masks and locked the couple in the basement. They eventually walked away with a few thousand euros.
Both victims were later taken to hospital, the woman was very impressed and the man suffered injuries. The public prosecutor’s office has started an investigation.
