The new council in De Wolden can get to work. Gerrie Hempen-Prent and Rudi Hooch Antink of Gemeentebelangen were officially appointed as aldermen tonight. New councilor Marcel Hulst of the VVD completes the trio.

Hempen-Prent and Hooch Antink already participated in the previous lecture and will continue in their roles. Hulst is a new face in the municipal council, but no stranger to the politics of De Wolden. He was a councilor on behalf of the VVD for many years.

In recent weeks there have been intensive negotiations about what the coalition wants to do in the coming years. In any case, housing will have the highest priority. Municipal interests and the VVD hope to build a thousand additional homes in the period from 2027 to 2036.

Another interesting detail is that the parties are not in favor of large-scale generation, for example through large wind turbines. De Wolden is currently conducting research into this at Ruinerwold-Noord.

The research and its results are being examined, the municipal council says. To complete current affairs, in his own words, carefully.

Albert Haar of D66 is out of office again after serving on the council for four years. On behalf of his party, he has again taken a seat in the municipal council.

Mark Turksma of GroenLinks-PvdA, now PRO De Wolden, has also disappeared from the political scene in De Wolden. He was a councilor on behalf of his party and wanted to become one again during a new council term, but that did not happen.

During the municipal elections he was put lower on the electoral list by his party. That caused a lot of problems, so Turksma decided to be a candidate councilor for Groenlinks-PvdA in Meppel, but the party did not get into the council.
