OK Kid and Sebastian Krumbiegel share song “Festival of Love”

OK Kid have teamed up with the Princes singer for their Christmas single. Listen here.

“It could have been harmonious and contemplative… but we decided to tell the truth,” OK Kid teased their new Christmas single on Instagram. The track, which was created together with the singer of Die Prinzen, Sebastian Krumbiegel, arrives just in time for St. Nicholas on December 6th.

In the photo for the new track, the artists stand in front of a decorated tree wearing Christmas sweaters. The song begins with classic Christmas bells and one might assume that OK Kid would release a contemplative piece for the “festival of love”, but instead there is a lot of criticism of Christmas in the coming minutes.

The singer of Die Prinzen, who can also be heard in the song, says about the message of the song in the press release: “Christmas is always somehow mined. The ‘festival of love’ can quickly become a family trap. That’s exactly what this song is about. Many people know it, but often just don’t want to admit it. Finally someone is singing about it and I’m happy to be a part of it.”
