Oh dear! Coming weekends, the A12 between Zoetermeer and Gouda will be closed

Count on you to be on the road for the next three weekends if you want to travel from Zoetermeer in the direction of Gouda, because road works are planned.

Rijkswaterstaat carries out maintenance on the A12 during three weekends from Friday 15 August to Monday 1 September 2025. From junction Prins Clausplein near The Hague to junction Gouwe near Gouda. Road users have to detour and take into account an extra travel time of 30 to 60 minutes.

New asphalt

The asphalt of the A12 between The Hague and Gouda is being replaced and therefore the highway will close for three weekends:

• From Friday, August 15, 10 p.m. to Monday, August 18, 5 p.m. from the Prins Clausplein junction to connection Bleiswijk
• From Friday, August 22, 10 p.m. to Monday 25 August 5.00 from the Prins Clausplein junction to connection Zevenhuizen
• From Friday, August 29, 10 p.m. to Monday 1 September 5.00 from the Prins Clausplein junction to junction Gouwe

Diversion routes

• Traffic from The Hague to Gouda is diverted via the A13 and the A20
• Traffic from The Hague to Utrecht is diverted via the A4 and the N11
• Traffic from Zoetermeer is diverted via the A12 towards The Hague, the A4 and N11 or A13

If you travel from Zoetermeer to The Hague, you can just go through. To keep in mind: in August, Rijkswaterstaat performs the work on the A12 from The Hague towards Gouda. And in November from Gouda to The Hague. We will keep you informed.
