A 41-year-old man was arrested on Thursday in Turnhout, Belgium, following a collision on the A2 highway near Eindhoven. On October 29, the man of no fixed abode crashed into two police cars and two motorcycle officers. The two motorcycle officers were seriously injured. One of the officers is still in hospital.

The police received a report of a stolen car in Geldrop on October 29 around seven o’clock in the evening. The car turned onto the A2 and from there officers gave chase. The driver caused a collision in which he hit two police cars and two police motorcycles. After the accident, the driver remained on the run.

The man was arrested by a Belgian arrest team around five o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday. Detectives from the Netherlands were also present at the action. After his arrest, the suspect’s temporary residence was searched and some goods were seized. The Dutch Public Prosecution Service has asked the Belgian authorities to hand over the suspect.
