Oasis: Liam Gallagher thinks reunion is possible

“I can imagine it,” said the singer – but Noel would have to take the first step.

Liam Gallagher has spoken out about a possible Oasis reunion. The singer sounded unusually optimistic.

Call expected from Noel Gallagher

Liam Gallagher said he was waiting for his brother Noel Gallagher to make a first move. “He knows I won’t call him,” he clarified. He was also referring to an interview that his brother gave last year. Opposite the “Times” he said on the subject of a reunion: “Liam hasn’t called yet,” it said. However, he did not completely rule out a band meeting. The brothers have officially fallen out since Oasis disbanded in 2009.

Now Liam Gallagher did it Conversation with the Sunday Times clear announcements in response to his brother. “He’s the one who broke up the band, so he might as well call,” the musician continued. “If he doesn’t call, there will be no reunion.” Despite the ultimatum, these words already sound like they are more willing to revive the Britpop band than before. His further words seemed even more willing to return to Oasis: “To be fair, I can imagine that. Things have changed in his personal life, so I can imagine him looking back and thinking, ‘You know what? I was very mean to my little brother. This would be the time to send him chocolates.’” He even included a joking reference to the Oasis song “Don’t Look Back In Anger” (1995) in the statement.

Liam Gallagher: “If Oasis got back together it would be great”

“I love my brother, I love my family, and all that Oasis shit wasn’t necessary,” Liam Gallagher stated. “Maybe someone gets too irritable on tour. Maybe someone drinks too much. But that’s why we didn’t have to break up right away.” According to him, he doesn’t hold any grudges. “If Oasis got together again, that would be great. Then I would only have to sing 15 songs and he could do the rest. I can do that standing on my head.”

Until then, Liam Gallagher teams up with John Squire, former guitarist of The Stone Roses. The pair’s eponymous collaboration album, LIAM GALLAGHER JOHN SQUIRE, will be released on March 1st. The two musicians then go on tour. Before that, both Liam and Noel Gallagher released their own music in 2023. COUNCIL SKIES by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds was released in June, Liam Gallagher’s live album KNEBWORTH 22 in August.
