Oasis paid tribute to the late Stone Roses bassist Gary “Mani” Mounfield at the Estadio MorumBIS in São Paulo, Brazil on Saturday evening. Mounfield’s death in The age of 63 was confirmed by his brother on Thursday.
“We would like to dedicate this to our dear friend, our hero, the one and only Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield,” said singer Liam Gallagher before the band launched into “Live Forever.”
Towards the end of the song, an image of Mani appeared on a video screen behind them, which the band turned to.

Before they played their next song, Gallagher announced it by saying, “Mani can have this one too, ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’.”
Gallagher had already paid tribute to Mounfield on social media when the news broke. “TOTALLY SHOCKED AND ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED AFTER THE NEWS ABOUT MANI MY HERO RIP RKID LG,” he wrote. His brother and bandmate Noel Gallagher posted a photo of Mounfield with the caption: “RIP brother. It was a pleasure knowing you.”
Oasis’ dedication to the late Stone Roses and Primal Scream bassist came during the penultimate show of their reunion tour, which ends tonight after its second and final night at Estadio MorumBIS in São Paulo, Brazil.
Future of the Oasis tour remains uncertain
Things are looking bad for fans hoping for a comeback in 2026: Gallagher gave a resounding “NO” to the question. He emphasized this emphatically with: “YES I’M FUCKING SERIOUS.”
However, when a fan asked about a return to tour in 2027, he left the possibility open. “Maybe,” he wrote.
