Dutchman Nyck de Vries drove superbly to ninth in his first career F1 race.
After the Monza race, de Vries, who got quick command behind the wheel of the Williams car, was so tired that he couldn’t get out of the car on his own.
In the video published by the F1 series, de Vries had to ask for help on the team radio.
– I can’t even… Can someone come and help me? I can’t even lift my arms anymore, de Vries said.
Finally, the employees of the Williams team came to help the 27-year-old driver out of the car.

In the interview after the race, de Vries was all smiles. The Dutchman was already convincing in qualifying on Saturday by driving to the second qualifying stage. The jury of the Monza race called de Vries to talk after the race for “irregular driving”. De Vries defended Alfa Romeo’s positions Guanyu Zhouta against at the end of the race. The jury was also interested in de Vries’ view on driving behind the safety car and staying within the delta time.
De Vries told the jury that he had not received any instructions from his team regarding the delta time because he was talking to his team about the brake problem.
