In 2024, 5.8 percent of Flemish 18 to 24-year-olds were an early school leaver. Two years earlier that was 4.9 percent. Men leave the school desks almost twice as often early as women. This is apparent from new figures from Statistics Flanders. Early school leavers are young people who have not obtained a final diploma of secondary education and who did not follow education or training in the four weeks before the survey.
