There is an island in the Atlantic Ocean, in the Gulf of Guinea: Null Island. You can rent holiday homes and follow cycling routes. At least, it seems that way. In reality, only ocean is as far as you can see. Null Island is a fictional island made up by digital mapping professionals. The map data that appears there are errors. Cartography was once a matter of experience, later mathematical precision work. Now anyone can make cards on the computer. What does this development do to our perception of the world?
