Defender Sami Niku has been the most talked about player in the league for the last week and a half. Despite that, the star pack has not played at all in the last four games.

Last Friday, Niku missed the HIFK game and received a message from the head coach the same evening From Mikko Heiskas. The head coach signaled to Pak that he doesn’t have to come to the hall on Saturday. The commotion was ready.

The parties have since tried to resolve the issues. Neither party has announced much about the issues, but now the JYP boss is speaking Mikko Viitanen.

– The club’s primary goal has always been for Sami to stay with us until the end of the season. However, Sami has requested a transfer elsewhere. We are now trying to work on a solution that would make everyone happy. That’s the plot of the job now, says JYP’s director of sports Viitanen to Iltalehte.

To Switzerland?

Many league clubs are very interested in Niku’s services. However, the player who leads the pack’s point exchange is an expensive player in Finland, as HIFK’s sports director Tobias Salmelainen admitted to Iltalehte, among others.

Swiss and Swedish clubs are also after Niku.

– I’m not going to comment on the future employer any more. We are working to resolve the issue, we are trying to find the best solution, Viitanen continues.

According to the Swiss media, Lugano and Niku have been negotiating the contract for a couple of weeks already.

Viitanen emphasizes that there is no dispute between the player and the club.

– At the time, Niku played his first league game as my team mate. Even then, things went well, and they have gone that way in these negotiations as well. There is perhaps less drama in this whole than is made out. We have negotiated as it should be negotiated in working life.

There was a death in the player’s family recently.

– This whole also includes matters of the player’s personal life. They make an impact, the club boss says briefly.

Training opportunity offered

JYP has always been obliged to arrange practice opportunities for Niku.

– Yes, we have an obligation to offer the employee training opportunities. If the employee refuses to use them, there is nothing we can do about it. These issues have been discussed face to face, Viitanen continues.

With Viitanen’s speeches, it is clear that Niku’s games at JYP have been played at this point.
