November inflation was the highest in 2023

Consumer prices had the biggest increase of the year, according to the INDEC. In November they had 12.8% increase compared to October. It also means 160.9% year-on-year growth.

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses, the most important increase was in health (15.9%), followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages (15.7%) and communication (15.2%).

They explain from the institute that the increase in health occurred due to “the increases in medications and in the fees of prepaid medicine companies.” Meanwhile, foods, “with the largest increases in Mineral waters, soft drinks and juices, Fruits, and Vegetables, tubers and legumes,” says the report.

The first reaction on social networks, after knowing the Consumer Price Index, was against the former Minister of Economy Sergio Massa, who was held responsible for the increases produced during the electoral campaign.
