Grand Slam record winner Novak Djokovic has canceled his participation in the ATP Masters in Cincinnati.
The organizers confirmed this on Monday compared to the portal “The Athletic”. The Serb is also missing the US Open at the second preparation tournament. Djokovic triumphed three times in Cincinnati – most recently in 2023.
The 38-year-old had already dispensed with the ongoing Masters in Toronto. Since his semi -final defeat in Wimbledon against Jannik Sinner, the Olympic champion has no longer contested a match. He will start in the last Grand Slam tournament of the year in New York without a game practice, which begins on August 24th.
While Djokovic does without the start in Ohio, the two top players Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are expected there. The Italian number one in the world and the Spanish French Open winner had also left the tournament in Toronto.
