According to the organizer, world number one Novak Djokovic can start at the Masters 1000 tournament in Rome from May 8th to 15th without vaccination against the corona virus. The President of the Italian Tennis Federation, Angelo Binaghi, said on Wednesday.

Djokovic has won the tournament five times. Last year, the Serb was in the final, which he lost to Spaniard Rafael Nadal.

The 34-year-old former protégé of coach Boris Becker was unable to defend his title at the Australian Open at the beginning of the season because he was expelled from the country. He was also not admitted to the US tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami because of the lack of vaccination.
