Willem II did not succeed on Thursday evening to beat Telstar. In Velsen-Zuid, the first game of the final of the play-offs ended in 2-2. This Sunday evening the decision falls when the two teams are opposite each other in the King Willem II Stadium in Tilburg.
The 711 stadium was full of enthusiastic fans of Telstar on Thursday evening. Reaching the final of the play-offs for promotion to the Eredivisie is special for the Velsenaren, since they last finished at the highest level in 1978.
Telstar impressed in the first two rounds of the play-offs by eliminating ADO Den Haag and FC Den Bosch. Against Willem II, the match started nervously, although the first chance was for Tyrone Owusu of the home team. His shot went just next to Thomas Didillon-Hödl’s goal. After fifteen minutes the ball was on the other side. Kyan Vaesen broke through on the right side of the field and perfectly presented on Ringo Meerveld, who could tap in for an open goal: 0-1.

With the home team it was again mainly enjoying Youssef El Kachati, the top scorer who is in the spotlight of different clubs. The fast attacker was constantly threatening, although there were great opportunities. Willem II did get that great scoring option after half an hour of play, but Dennis Kaygin shot an open shooting opportunity far too wildly.
Clumsy
In the second half, Telstar showed more the will to serve the supporters a fun game. Willem II was printed backwards, but got a big chance via Kyan Vaesen. The header of the Belgian was tapped from the corner. Furthermore, in the initial phase it was mainly stopping what the Tilburgers did. After 56 minutes, the justified equalizer fell, when El Kachati gave sharply and Runar Sigurgeirsson outlined his own goalkeeper in a clumsy way.

Willem II was run over and nine minutes later the 2-1 followed. El Kachati reacted much more alert than the Tilburg defense and hit hard.
The moment the 3-1 hung in the air, the ratio in the 2-2 fell completely. In the 81st minute, substitute Emilio Kehrer hit the 81st minute next to goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr. In the final phase, no change came in the final phase and so there is possible for both teams next Sunday during the return of everything. Telstar dreams of promotion, Willem II is going to do everything to extend the stay in the Eredivisie.
