The fire service is currently housed in classrooms under the control tower and uses a shed as a changing room and for storing vehicles. “In the near future there must be a new fire station that has been adapted to the needs of a contemporary fire brigade,” says Himpe.
The shed where the equipment is located has since been purchased by the airport and adapted with, among other things, new heating and repaired gates. This way the equipment can be stored safely and at the right temperature. The shed can be rented again later.
