“We have adhered to the rules,” is Elly An de Boer clear. The person ultimately responsible at VOC does not want to know anything about unsporting behavior and explains that you can change players for up to the age of 23 unlimited to change teams within the club. “We just won honestly and with all due respect: I think every coach would do the same thing.”
No philanthropic institution
Funny detail is that VOC 1 lost to Kwiek in the quarterfinals. In the semi -final last night, six supporting players from the first team participated. So they took revenge for the earlier elimination. These reinforcements were at the expense of two players who normally play in VOC 2. “That is very sour,” says De Boer. “As a person I find such a decision very difficult, but this is top sport. I am not at a philanthropic attitude. We just want to win.”
