It was a strange sensation on Saturday morning, many television viewers believe. While the emergency services at the Tarwekamp in The Hague did everything they could to get people out from under the rubble after five apartments were blown away by an explosion, programs such as I’m leaving, Hunted, House vision and Fish TV broadcast. The disaster was not discussed on the channels until around 12 noon, while the fire broke out at 6.15 am. The NOS in particular has received heavy criticism on social media. “Receiving a billion euros annually for public tasks, but when you hear breaking news you only hear crickets.”
