Immediately after the first residents developed symptoms of the norovirus, vomiting and diarrhea, the residential care center introduced a mandatory face mask requirement. Visitors and residents are also not allowed to eat or drink together, despite the holidays. Ultimately, about 45 residents and about twenty employees contracted an infection. To prevent further spread, the measures will remain in force for the time being, also because the flu season is approaching.
