Status: 08.01.2023 09:53

Good starting position for Julian Schmid after jumping. Ryota Yamamoto leads in Otepää ahead of cross country.

Ryota Yamamoto from Japan will be the first to start at 1.30 p.m., followed by two Austrians, Franz-Josef Rehrl and Johannes Lamparter. Julian Schmid follows as fourth. The German flew 96.0 meters and is 16 seconds behind Yamamoto in the ten-kilometer cross-country skiing. Manuel Faißt as sixth is still promising in the race.

Terence Weber (15th), Eric Frenzel (17th), Jakob Lang (23rd) and Fabian Rießle (27th) still have to be patient. Things didn’t go so well for David Mach (40th) and Tristan Sommerfeldt (44th).

Olympic champion Vinzenz Geiger (cold) and six-time world champion Johannes Rydzek (Corona) did not travel to Estonia, and Norway’s Jarl Magnus Riiber, the leader in the overall World Cup, is also absent due to illness.

Women’s competition canceled

The women’s competition is coming up later. The competition was canceled on Saturday due to adverse weather conditions.

Third place on the podium at just 16 years old: The super talented German Nathalie Armbruster continued her fairy tale of success in the World Cup at the Nordic Combined in Ramsau.
