Welcome back!

10:07

With that I say goodbye to the women’s competitions in Otepää. The women’s five kilometer run is scheduled for 12 p.m. Now the combined athletes will start from the ski jump at 10.15 a.m.

10:04

Slamik best ÖSV athlete

After jumping, Annalena Slamik is the best ÖSV athlete with eighth place. She is already 1:35 minutes behind Mari Leinan Lund. Lisa Hirner (+2:04 mins) and Claudia Purker (+2:20) are in twelfth and 13th place.

10:01

Strong jumps from the Germans – Armbruster falls back

In addition to Jenny Nowak’s fifth place, Svenja Würth in sixth (+1:31 min.) and Maria Gerboth in seventh (+1:34) also have a good starting position for the five kilometer run. Only Nathalie Armbruster couldn’t handle the jump at all today. The 18-year-old was pushed through to 14th place and, 3:38 minutes behind, will no longer play a role in the top places today.

09:59

The Norwegians are back at the front after jumping

As has often been the case in the World Cup, Mari Leinan Lund is in the lead after jumping. She is 17 seconds ahead of last year’s overall World Cup winner. There is already a 46 second lead over the strong runner Ida Marie Hagen. Can the woman in yellow close the gap to the front again today? The best German is Jenny Nowak in fifth place, one minute behind.

09:59

Ida Marie Hagen (NOR)

The last athlete sits at the top. The woman in yellow, Ida Marie Hagen, has to wait a long time at the top and has to come down from the beam again due to too much updraft. The Norwegian sailed from hatch twelve to 93 meters and set the best distance of the day, but she had more run-up and so she is third with 109.1 points and is now 46 seconds behind Mari Leinan Lund.

09:55

Gyda Westvold Hansen (NOR)

Last year’s overall World Cup winner, Gyda Westvold Hansen, is now at the top. Yesterday she had problems on the hill. Today she jumps out of gate nine and also flies to 91 meters, but she can only position her skis parallel and so she is only second, 17 seconds behind.

09:54

Mari Leinan Lund (NOR)

The next strong jumper is at the top. She jumps out of two hatches less than a start. Mari Leinan Lund flies to 91 meters and takes the clear lead. With 120.6 points and a lead of 54 seconds over Kasai, the Norwegian takes the place in the Leaders Box.

09:53

Haruka Kasai (JPN)

Even today, Haruka Kasai shows no weakness on the jump and sails to 91.5 meters. This is the lead for the Japanese. The Asian gets 1.4 points more and is six seconds ahead of Nowak for the run.

09:52

Nathalie Armbruster (GER)

Can Nathalie Armbruster keep up now? The Germans had problems with the jump in the last few days. Even today the 18-year-old wants too much and has to land at 73.5 meters. This brings us back to tenth place. Armbruster is now 2:38 minutes behind.

09:50

Jenny Nowak (GER)

Yesterday’s best German, Jenny Nowak, is now sitting on top of the beam. She hits a great jump and sets the telemark at 90 meters. With 105.7 points, she pushed her teammate Würth into second place. Nowak has a 31 second lead.

09:49

Lisa Hirner (AUT)

Lisa Hirner, the last Austrian, is already waved away by Willi Denifl. It doesn’t have the easiest conditions and puts the skis in the snow at 82 meters. Sixth place for the ÖSV athlete.

09:48

Lena Brocard (FRA)

Yesterday the Frenchwoman was still in third place after jumping. What is Lena Brocard doing today? The young French woman wants a little too much at the table and is wasting a little too much energy. This means she has to land at 84 meters and is in fourth place.

09:47

Daniela Dejori (ITA)

Now it’s the next Italian’s turn. She can’t handle the jump in Otepää yet and has to make a lot of corrections in the air. It ends at 67 meters. Only tenth place for Daniela Dejori.

09:45

Maria Gerboth (GER)

Half of the athletes are already down. Now the German head coach waves away the second German Maria Gerboth. It flies to 87.5 meters, placing it in second place directly behind Würth. Double leadership for Germany!

09:44

Anju Nakamura (JPN)

Her compatriot also has to wait a little longer before she can go. Then Anju Nakamura starts to land at 74 meters and is only in sixth place.

09:43

Yuna Kasai (JPN)

The Japanese Yuna Kasai is at the table almost on time and sails to 84.5 meters. That’s third place for the Asian woman.

09:42

Annika Malacinski (USA)

It is now the turn of the American Annika Malacinski. But it has to land at 79.5 meters and is passed through to fourth place.

09:41

Marte Leinan Lund (NOR)

Mari Leinan Lund’s younger sister, Marte Leinan Lund, is not competing today. In addition, the young Finn Nurmela was disqualified because of her shoes.

09:40

Svenja Würth (GER)

Yesterday Svenja Würth took second place after jumping. She also got a good jump today and was able to jump 87.5 meters. This pushes Slamik out of the Leaders Box.

09:39

Annalena Slamik (AUT)

The second Austrian is now doing much better. She hits the table perfectly and flies to 86.5 meters. But she can no longer do the telemark, but she still takes the lead with 96.8 points.

09:38

Veronica Gianmoena (ITA)

The first Italian woman is on the trail. Veronica Gianmoena also has problems after the table, only flying to 70 meters and pushing Kil to third place.

09:37

Sana Azegami (JPN)

The first Japanese woman is now sitting upstairs. Sana Azegami is waved off. She has a lot of trouble taking off and has to correct a lot with her hands. This means she can only pull the jump to 68 meters and is fourth.

09:36

Joanna Kil (POL)

Now the only Polish woman is at the start. It can go straight down and only starts to land at 73 meters. This pushes Midtsundstad to third place.

09:34

Claudia Purker (AUT)

The ÖSV athletes are at the top. Willi Denifl has to let his athlete off the beam again. On the second attempt, Claudia Purker is let down. But she can’t really take advantage of the conditions, she’s a little late at the table and flies to 81 meters. This is clearly the lead for Purker.

09:33

Hanna Midtsundstad (NOR)

The first Norwegian is at the top and she also has big problems on the jump and has to land at 47.5 meters. However, Hanna Midtsundstad gets more points and takes the lead with 18.4 points.

09:30

Lumia Nurmela (FIN)

The Finn Lumia Nurmela jumps out of hatch twelve. The young Finn lands at 51 meters. The 15-year-old set the first best distance of the day.

09:27

The Finn opens the competition straight away

The third competition this weekend is about to begin with Lumia Nurmela. A total of 22 athletes are competing among the women.

09:26

Can the Norwegians be beaten again today?

Yesterday Ida Marie Hagen dominated the competition again. After jumping she only took fifth place. But after less than 1.3 kilometers she had closed the gap on the previously leading Japanese woman, Haruka Kasai, and only a short time later she pulled away and secured victory. With yesterday’s victory, the strong runner extended her lead in the overall World Cup and is now exactly 100 points ahead of second place and her compatriot Gyda Westvold Hansen.

09:20

Three ÖSV athletes registered

Like yesterday, no Swiss woman is taking part in the World Cup in Otepää today. There are three combined athletes for Austria today. Lisa Hirner (16) has the best chance of a podium place. She is the seventh best in the World Cup and came sixth yesterday. Claudia Purker (3) and Annalena Slamik (7) are also at the start.

09:15

Four German combined athletes there

In addition to Jenny Nowak, who is starting with start number 17, three other DSV athletes are taking part in the last competition in Otepää today. The strong jumper Svenja Würth (8) is the first German starter to go off the beam. Yesterday she took second place after jumping and ended up with a strong ninth place. Maria Gerboth (13) and Nathalie Armbruster (18) are also fighting for a podium place again today

09:10

Germans are not far from getting on the podium

This weekend, the German combined athletes narrowly missed the podium twice. On Friday, Nathalie Armbruster was in third place after the mass start, missed the podium after a mediocre jump and had to settle for fourth place. Yesterday, Saturday, too, Jenny Nowak kept up with the chasing group for a long time and only had to let go of last year’s overall world champion, Gyda Westvold Hansen, on the last mountain. In the end, the 21-year-old was six seconds behind the Norwegian and third place.
