The German combined athlete Nathalie Armbruster had a good chance of a podium finish at the World Cup in Otepää. But then she was disqualified.

The start was promising – but the weekend in Otepää ended in disappointment for Nathalie Armbruster. The defending champion of the overall World Cup in Nordic Combined was disqualified after jumping on Sunday. The reason was a non-compliant suit.

The 20-year-old had previously made a successful start with third place in the mass start on Friday. Seventh place followed on Saturday. On Sunday, Armbruster was clearly on course for the podium after the jump, but then failed the material control.

The Norwegian Ida Marie Hagen confidently secured the day’s victory. She won the race by 26.1 seconds over Minja Korhonen from Finland. For Hagen it was already the sixth victory in the seventh race of the season. The best German was Jenny Nowak in ninth place.

Ingrid Laate, also from Norway, clearly won the competition, but was unable to maintain her lead. The “compact mode”, in which fixed time gaps are specified, gave her trouble over 4 kilometers on the cross-country ski trail. She fell back to 13th place.
