Infrastructure works will also take place in Blankenberge from January 19. For example, work is being done on renewing the tracks, overhead lines and signaling equipment. As a result, Blankenberge station will be out of service during five weekends (January 31-February 1, February 7-8, March 7-8, March 14-15 and March 22-23).
“Work will also take place during week nights from January 19 to April 3. After the Easter holidays, further finishing of the new overhead line installations will take place until before the start of the summer holidays; old installations will then be demolished in September,” it said.
In addition, platform 1 at Blankenberge station will be extended by thirty meters this spring to accommodate trains up to 325 meters in the future.
