There are no trains between Beilen and Assen for the time being. This is due to a level crossing at the transition in Hooghalen.
The Dutch Railways expect the malfunction to be resolved around 6 p.m. Until that time, quick buses run between the two stations.
At the transition in Hooghalen, the barriers no longer go up. As a result, traffic can no longer cross the track. Traffic controllers have been deployed to kill motorists and cyclists.
Some cyclists still wanted to ignore the closed barrier and blinking lamps. Multiple strikes. The police have therefore started checking. At least one cyclist was stopped and received a ticket.
