People in a crucial profession who have not had a booster do not need to be quarantined. They must be tested regularly to be allowed to go to work. When they come into contact with a corona patient, they have to take a daily self-test and a PCR test on day five is now the plan. If they do develop complaints, they must still be quarantined.
Minister Ernst Kuipers (Public Health) said on Wednesday that he had already asked the Outbreak Management Team whether the quarantine rules could be adjusted. Because of the more contagious Omicron variant, so many people are at risk of not being able to go to work because of a quarantine that can stall entire sectors.
The relaxation will be further explained on Friday evening at a press conference by Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Kuipers.
