No PSV supporters welcome at the next Ajax PSV after anti-Semitic chants

No PSV supporters are welcome at the match between Ajax and their club in the Johan Cruijff Arena. The Amsterdam security triangle determined this after a group of PSV supporters sang anti-Semitic chants and vandalized during the match for the Johan Cruijff Scale a month ago.

Amsterdam has sent the Eindhoven club a letter in which it can be read that ‘despite repeated warnings during the match, massive and prolonged (anti-Semitic) chants, hurtful songs and very unsavory curses and (punishable) insults have been made by a large group of PSV supporters. the address of a number of Ajax players were heard’.

In particular, former PSV players Steven Bergwijn and Mohamed Ihattaren – who now play for Ajax – had to suffer.

In addition, the PSV supporters caused the necessary destruction in the Arena and the mobile unit eventually had to intervene.

Previous warning ignored

According to mayor Femke Halsema, this is unacceptable and in some cases even punishable. She also mentions that it is not the first time that the fans from Eindhoven have misbehaved.

During two previous meetings last year, chants and slogans were also heard. Even then, the Amsterdam triangle sent a letter to PSV stating that the behavior entails consequences. That warning had no effect.

Ajax and PSV will play against each other again on November 6.
