It sounds as if they didn’t just mean sport. Do you also see a problem for society as a whole?

Yes. I generally see lethargy, discouragement and willingness to split. Especially when it comes to split, people who have the necessary intellect must do everything to do that this does not happen.

And what do you mean by discouragement?

In the meantime, nobody wants to make decisions anymore because they have to be afraid of being torn in public. Even if someone does everything right, little things are still sought for which you then criticize it. It is always just the search for negative. That pisses me off. This leads to the fact that every trend is followed to take a position.

For example, we really have different problems than the question of whether we should gender or not. We should rather deal with the important topics: women earn less money in comparable jobs. This is a topic that you have to talk about. But now there is a “inside” somewhere? Is that the problem we have in our society? How sick are we actually?

You also speak of lethargy. An allegedly lack of willingness to perform for people is always part of the public debate. Do you see them too?

Yes. Many acquaintances who have companies tell me that they want to close the shop and go to another country. They say: Bob, we don’t feel like it anymore if people don’t want to work anymore. We have a convenience problem in society. That cannot be dismissed. We all have to do more again.

And what role do bosses play? Finally, studies also show that if employees are unmotivated, this is often due to poor leadership.

We also have a leadership problem, definitely. You have to lead as a model. An example: If, as a trainer, after giving away games, I am only back home at 4 a.m., but always stand in the training hall again the next day at 7.30 a.m., then nobody in my team will complain that they have to work too hard. Because you see: the old man does it too. But there is something else that is very important.

I also have to orientate myself on the needs of the leaders. With all the goals that I pursue, and all expectations I have, I have to ask myself whether this was understood correctly. When I make mistakes, I have to admit it, take a different way and then explain why I fall into this new way. It must be clear to everyone how he can use what I do and what I ask him to do to make his career. Then he will say: Yes, I want that too.
