During the fourth pro forma hearing in court today, it became apparent that the substantive hearing of the case is not yet in sight. The chairman of the court in Alkmaar warned the relatives that the investigation will take some time. Daniël Fontein, lawyer for suspect T., has submitted a number of investigation requests.

More witnesses need to be interviewed. According to the lawyer, this will be about the build-up of the aggression of the ultimate victim towards his son. The two are said to have had a very difficult relationship for years, prior to the death of father Albert.

Questions about conclusions of forensic research

The defense also has questions about the conclusions of the forensic investigation into the cause of Albert Visser’s death. That is why a pathologist from the Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) is also being questioned.

All this takes time, the court says. That is why the next hearing will also be a so-called pro forma, during which the progress of the investigation will be discussed. This is scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2026 in the Alkmaar court.
