It is not yet known whether Mo Ihattaren will rejoin Ajax. Ihattaren is still training individually and is still in talks with the club management.

“The talks are ongoing, but there is no clarity yet,” says Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder. “I am still enthusiastic about the player. We are now in a different trajectory and we have to wait and see. There is no question that he is a great player.”

According to De Telegraaf, the footballer would have close contacts with serious criminals. Security experts did not consider it safe to let him come to the club and that is why he did not go on a training camp to Austria. Schreuder indicates that he does not know exactly what is going on around Ihattaren.

First home game

Ajax will play against FC Groningen in the Johan Cruijff Arena on Sunday. Ajax captain Dusan Tadic made his Eredivisie debut in 2010 wearing the shirt of the Groningen team. The new Mexican acquisition Jorge Sánchez is not yet in the party. His work permit has yet to be arranged. He is expected to join next week.

There is also a good chance that Remko Pasveer is on target. “You will see that on Sunday. Remko was number one at Ajax before his injury and he did an excellent job. He is now fit again and we are satisfied with what he brings us,” said Schreuder.
