Chelsea FC will be without Christopher Nkunku again in the coming weeks. The 26-year-old offensive player has to take a step back due to an unspecified injury, as the Blues announced on Tuesday. The downtime is around three to four weeks.
On Sunday, Nkunku played 53 minutes in the EFL Cup final against Liverpool FC (0-1 nV) after being substituted on and was on the pitch until the final whistle. “We found out after the game that he had suffered an injury,” said coach Mauricio Pochettino, without specifying whether it was a recurrence of the knee or hip injury that has plagued the Frenchman frequently this season had forced.
