– It’s been a difficult topic. I noticed how much I had a burden when I never talked out loud about them. Yes, they have really influenced me as a person.

According to Saarinen, the case has not yet been resolved. The presenter is not so much disturbed by the unresolvedness of the case, but the scars left by the loved one.

– The bitterness of why their lives have been deprived. And the feelings of why this happened to our family. They may have been the biggest themes of my childhood, he says.

Fear

With the deaths of Eno, Saarinen lived in fear of his entire childhood. Saarinen feared that one of his family members would be killed next.

The fear of the islands was also tormented and when he moved to his first home, he slept under his pillow. According to Saarinen, that fear has never disappeared.

– It has made me Ara’s man and, for example, made me one who doesn’t like dark. It has left me such scars that I never think I can get over it.

However, Saarinen did not experience fear for the first time in publicating death threats.

– By that time, I had already lived a reality where people are really killed around me. So just commenting no longer felt like anything. I was so tired that there may be such anger in some people, says the presenter.

– It was a funny feeling. I thought that if someone really wanted to do their actions, he might not write about it for me. Sometimes I was even amused by all of the death threats, he continues.

“People’s Pelle”

Degree threats are not the only horrible thing Saarinen has experienced in public. As Saarinen gains tremendous popularity in 2008 Big Brother after the program he was treated as a “bimbo celebration”.

– I was a clown of the whole nation. I was 22 at the time and I was not at all with my sexuality. Suddenly, it was made a general joke in Finland that I was such a stereotypical gay, the presenter recalls.

At that time, Saarinen did not realize the situation because everything was so new then. He also thought he had to endure all the abuse because he wanted to public. For this reason, Saarinen thought it was ok to be mocked. Over time, the situation led to Saarinen’s appreciation for himself.

– Of course it edited me as a person and left me with terrible scars. For 10 years, I downplayed myself. Even today, my self -esteem is really bad, he says.

At the same time, Saarinen understands that the reality TV publicity was a new thing at the time, and that is why the spirit of the time was in line with it.

“I don’t remember individual journalists or situations bad because I think everyone has learned how to treat such people,” he says.

Saarinen feels that the world has changed from those times. If the situation experienced by Saarinen happened today, he would believe that the people would intervene in the situation faster.

Goodbye to publicity

Saarinen feels that he has been easily brainwashing because of his young age. He was suggested that it would be easy to replace if he did not give anything to the public. Publicity was like a currency from which they were made dependent.

Saarinen feels that it is no longer dependent on publicity. Sometimes he feels publicity is more burden than benefit. Therefore, Saarinen is planning to quit all public work, even though leaving the public may not be easy.

– It’s just waiting for its time. Many times I have made the decision that this year is the last one, but then there is always something new, the presenter says.

– But I say that if my career has lasted for 17 years, it will not last in the next 17 years. At some point I want to live life outside the limelight. It’s my biggest dream, he continues.

Longing for love

Saarinen believes that he will inevitably leave the public back when his life arrives in his life. Saarinen says of the longing for loneliness and love that he stumbles on a weekly basis, sometimes even daily.

However, in the new book, Saarinen mentions that his “momentum to a relationship is over”. Now he opens up what was meant with that sentence.

– I haven’t given up on love. But of course I realize that love in the forties is different from the twenties. I always thought I’d fall in love fiery, but I don’t know if I’m too old now.

– Yes, it is a topic that comes up every time you date. Maybe people are also excited to meet me.

– Some people think that there are more attention in public. But as far as love comes, the attention gained is on the minus mark.

Saarinen hopes that the next events of his life will include love.

– I would like the world’s most ordinary guy buddy. One that is not interested in my publicity. He would have his own career on which he would concentrate his resources and I could do myself successfully. So we would have a common life, but separate careers. I basically have no appearance requirements.
