Nobody knew how long Marcel Sabitzer would fail in March. Now it looks like that he could help his team again in important games.
In mid -March, Borussia Dortmund announced in a message that midfielder Marcel Sabitzer “initially” fell. The Bundesliga club named a knee injury as the reason that the 31-year-old suffered at the league approval in Leipzig. The service provider thus missed the games against Mainz (3: 1), Freiburg (4: 1) and Bavaria (2: 2). In addition, Sabitzer was not there in the Champions League against FC Barcelona. Although BVB left Hansi Flick’s team (0: 4 and 3: 1), the BVB presented itself strongly in the second leg.
The upward trend of the “black and yellow” could now inspire that the chances of a comeback from Sabitzer look good in the fight for the end of the season. Trainer Niko Kovač said at the press conference before the game against Gladbach on Sunday (from 5:30 p.m. in the T-Online Live Tickier): “He is making progress. He is currently working easily with the ball again, which should be intensified next week.”
The aim is that the midfielder “joins the team again after the game against Hoffenheim. The Dortmunders play against the team from Kraichgau on April 26th. Sabitzer could thus be used again in the final sprint against VfL Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Holstein Kiel. Dortmund is currently in eighth place with 42 points. At the beginning of the season, those responsible had issued the achievement of the Champions League as the goal.
