Nikki (38) has 22 years of experience in the shoe trade. She has been an assistant manager at Nolten for eight years: a shoe store in the Stadshart for women, men and children. Bee Nolten they do more than just sell shoes: “There is a lot of knowledge in-house.”
Nolten can be found at Promenade 46. The shoe store moved there about a year and a half ago. The store used to be opposite Primark. “This new location is much better for us,” says Nikki. “We are more in the loop. Moreover, we have a beautiful new store where all our products come into their own.”
The most beautiful brands
At Nolten you will find all kinds of well-known and lesser-known brands. They are the only Ugg outlet in town. They also have the brands Sendra, ViaVai and Gabor for women.
For children you will find the brands ShoesMe, Bunnies and Hip, among others. “We have everything for children, from their first running shoe to children’s shoes in size 40,” says Nikki. For men they have Van Bommel, among others.
Advice on (shoe) size
You can also contact Nolten for advice. “We know about shoes,” says Nikki. “But my colleagues and I also have a lot of professional knowledge. For example, we can advise you on the best fit for your foot, materials and shoe care.”
They gain this knowledge through all kinds of training courses and workshops that the company organizes. “There are seven stores in South Holland. All employees are given the space to grow and develop.”
What Nikki likes most about her job is that she can be helpful. “I can do something for people,” she says. “I like it best when I see someone leave the store with good advice and a suitable shoe.”

The trends
As a shoe expert, Nikki naturally knows exactly what the trends of the moment are. “In the new season we see a lot of metallic boots for women,” she says. “There’s a kind of light sheen to it. Retro is also back. You can especially see this in the block heel in many models. Quite a cool trend!”
