Evert Sanwaarden feeds the rumors that Nick Schilder would be done with the negative image of Simon Keizer. “One is nice and the other is not nice, you sometimes hear in the world.”
The magazine of Evert Sankrediets, weekly Privé, was the first to gossip last week that Nick & Simon would split up. The management then confirmed that there are solo plans, but that more will only become clear about this at the end of August in the season premiere of Eva Jinek. Meanwhile, the rumor mill is running at full speed.
‘nice, not nice’
It’s no secret that Simon Keizer has been plagued for quite some time now by persistent rumors that he is a huge cheater. According to Yvonne Coldeweijer, that is also the reason that Nick & Simon split up. “For some time now, it has been rumored that Nick no longer wants to be associated with Simon’s bad image,” she says.
Evert feeds those rumours. He reveals in his program Strictly Private that one half of the singing duo is absolutely unpopular in the entertainment world. “The annoyances between them are also there, you could see that and they are also two different guys. One is nice and the other is not nice, you sometimes hear in the world.”
‘I do not say’
Evert does not want to call man and horse. “It’s up to you… Everyone has their own preference.”
Evert joins in the frame that Nick & Simon can’t stand each other anymore. They will skilfully disguise that, the Private Boss thinks. “They want to sell an entire tour and people don’t feel like going and looking at people who don’t get through the same door. So that’s all a bit downplayed.”
Two characters
According to Evert, it is not surprising that Nick & Simon are breaking up. “When you are approaching forty you are friends with someone differently than when you are in the same class at a young age. It’s two characters who both want to go their own way and always have to agree on the repertoire they sing.”
They do not have to worry about financial issues, according to the Private boss. “They can afford it. They are among the richest young people from Volendam in the village. The past year has certainly not done them any harm. You see how they live and you see how much they have earned.”
Millions of euros
Nick & Simon have really raked in millions of euros in their joint career, Evert knows. They also cashed in during corona time. “They just continued making their programs for AvroTros: looking for Simon & Garfunkel and looking for Abba.”
Evert is glued to the TV at the end of the month to watch Jinek. “They are going to do the full story at the end of August about what exactly is going on and what led them to decide to break up. They still have a year and a half to go and they will do that as well as possible.”
