‘Nick & Simon just want to cash in’

Antoinnette Scheulderman, who works for Linda de Mol’s magazine, accuses Nick & Simon of putting on a play so that they can fill their pockets one more time. “Just stop!”

For LINDA.-journalist Antoinnette Scheulderman, it is as clear as day: Nick & Simon have staged a play in Eva Jinek’s talk show. Those two just have a blood match with each other, she says in the talk show HLF8. “Nick just couldn’t look at him, right? Eva also mentioned that at one point, who vibes.”

Grab one more time

Antoinnette does not understand why Nick & Simon are still taking their farewells over an entire tour and a series of farewell concerts. “I’m just fascinated, like, why are they doing this? I think those guys have earned a lot of money, so they probably only do it for…”, says the lover of Gijp millionaire Michel van Egmond.

To grab one last time, Antoinnette continues. “They have another new album and they have a farewell tour soon. Apparently there is still a lot to be earned there, so they still have to pretend they can go through one door together. Just stop it.”

“Just stop!”

Antoinnette does not think it is fair that Nick & Simon mislead their fans in this way. “You can also just say: ‘Nick & Simon stop, because Nick & Simon can no longer air or see each other.’ Point. Instead of immediately going for six more fun times in Ahoy. Can’t you just stop?”

This is just not sincere, she says. “Now I just see two people hating each other. Or at least one especially the other.”

Nick’s eyes

Aaf Brandt Corstius sees the same anger in Nick & Simon. “What I found most intense were Nick’s eyes. They were so angry!”, she says in her podcast.

Co-host Marc-Marie Huijbregts: “I have the feeling that Simon has done something very bad and that Nick is super angry. You could see it was a constructed story.”

Marketing thing

What does culture expert Cornald Maas think? At the table with Jinek: “I’ve seen it too. I thought, maybe it’s a bit of a marketing thing after all. Nick’s non-verbal action was quite strong.”

Eva Jinek, who led the Nick & Simon interview: “I especially liked it – how can I put it? – what’s so great about TV. If it had been radio, you would undoubtedly have experienced this differently. 80 percent of what I consume is visual. Here you could also look, so you have both the conversation you hear and the conversation you see.”

In any case, it didn’t do Eva any harm. “Secure. I started my week nicely activated.”
