About the announcement, the press release says: “On the new tracks from “Wild God”, the collective moves between convention, experimentation, tension and relaxation, also taking branches and detours into account that further reinforce the images and emotions in Cave’s stories . So there are moments that are reminiscent of the Bad Seeds’ past, but which only appear fleetingly and serve more to underpin the band’s progress.”

Complicated but thrilling

Cave thinks it’s a “complicated album, but also thrilling.” He also explains that there was no master plan for the record, but that it would always reflect the emotional mindset of the musicians. In this case, “it seems very happy.”

You can also find out via press release: “Produced by Cave and Warren Ellis and mixed by David Fridmann, the frontman began writing the album in early 2023. At sessions at Miraval in Provence, France, and in London, the Bad Seeds brought in their own elements, with additional guest appearances from Colin Greenwood (bass) and Luis Almau (acoustic guitar).”
